If you are looking for experienced and dependable UK immigration solicitors, you are in safe hands with us.
At VM Law Solicitors,we specialise in all aspects of UK Immigration Law and provide tailored legal advice designed around your individual circumstances. We take the time to understand your circumstances and provide clear, strategic advice tailored to your goals.
Applying for a UK visa requires strict compliance with the Immigration Rules set by the Home Office. The requirements are detailed and often unforgiving. A simple oversight, such as a missing document, an incorrectly completed form, or a minor inconsistency in the evidence provided, can result in a refusal. This can lead to unnecessary delays, additional costs, and considerable stress. In some cases, you may need to submit a fresh application or pursue an appeal, which can be both time-consuming and expensive.
Our role is to minimise these risks. We carefully assess your eligibility, advise you on the strength of your case, and ensure that your application is thoroughly prepared before submission. With extensive experience across a wide range of UK visa categories, we provide practical, honest advice and strong legal representation at every stage of the process.
We understand that immigration applications can feel overwhelming. The rules are complex, the requirements are strict, and even a small mistake can lead to delays or refusals. That’s why we take a careful, thorough, and personalised approach to every case.
With us, you are not just another file — you are a valued client with a future we are committed to protecting.
We believe that legal fees should be transparent and agreed in advance wherever possible. Most UK immigration matters are undertaken on the basis of a fixed fee. The agreed fee will depend on the complexity of your case, the level of preparation required, and the expertise involved. You will always be informed of the cost before we begin any work.
Our fixed fee generally includes a detailed consultation with an experienced immigration solicitor, advice on your available options and the merits of your case, guidance on gathering supporting documentation, preparation of the relevant application or representations, and submission to the Home Office or appropriate authority. We remain available to assist you throughout the preparation stage and will keep you informed of progress.
In circumstances where a fixed fee cannot be agreed, our standard hourly rate is £300. This will be clearly discussed with you before any work is undertaken.
Please note that government fees and third-party costs are not included in our professional fees. These are known as disbursements and are payable directly to the relevant authority or service provider. Depending on your case, these may include the Home Office visa application fee, the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS), English language examination fees, translation services, expert reports, court fees, and other administrative expenses. As these costs are set by external organisations, they may vary and are subject to change.
The current Immigration Health Surcharge is typically £776 per year for students, their dependants and certain youth mobility applicants, £776 per year for applicants under 18, and £1,035 per year for most other visa categories. These figures are determined by the UK government and may be updated from time to time.
Processing times depend on the type of application submitted and the workload of the decision-making body. Entry clearance applications made outside the UK may take several weeks, while in-country applications can take several months depending on the visa category and Home Office backlogs. While we cannot control processing times, we ensure that your application is prepared and submitted correctly and we keep you informed throughout the process.
